Penang is a state in Malaysia and the name of its constituent island, located on the northwest coast of Peninsular Malaysia by the Straits of Malacca It is bordered by Kedah in the north and east, and Perak in the south. Penang is the second smallest Malaysian state in area after Perlis, It is composed of two parts – Penang Island, where the seat of government is, and Seberang Perai. Penang is one of the most developed and economically important states in the country, as well as a thriving tourist destination.
The capital of Penang is Georgetown and Penang is often know as 'The Pearl Of Orient'
Even though Penang is just a small island, but it has always been a popular tourist destination, both domestically and internationally. Penang has been ranked by Yahoo! Travel as one of the "10 Islands to Explore Before You Die" So, why not have a visit to Penang? I am sure you will like this island very much.
The most popular beaches in Penang are located at Tanjung Bungah, Batu Ferringhi, and Teluk Bahang. These contiguous beaches are home to Penang's famed hotel and resort belt.
Although Penang has limited land size and dense population, Penang has managed to retain a considerable area of natural environment .Penang Hill is one of the famous park in Penang. Penang Hill is located at the fringe of Georgetown and at the foot of Penang Hill have two adjacent green areas which is Youth Park and Penang Botanical Garden.
Come to Penang must shopping at here too.Penang is the major shopping destination in the northern region of Peninsular Malaysia.It has several several shopping mall offering a wide range of merchandise. Penang's largest shooping mall is the Queensbay mall.Beside that, Penang still have a lot of shopping mall such as Gurney Plaza at the famed of Gurney Drive, !st Avenue,Penang Times Square, Sunway Carnival Mall and many more.The first modern shopping mall in Penang is Komtar which has many years of history already. Komtar is also the tallest building in Penang too.So, must shooping in Penang when you visit to Penang especially girls who love shopping very much.

Penang long known as the food capital of Malaysia, is renonwed for its good and varied food. Penang was recognized as having the Best Street Food in Asia by Times Magazine in 2004, citing that 'now where else can such greating food be so cheap'.Penang easpecially famous with its 'hawker food' , many served as fresco, strongly features noodles, spices and fresh seafood too.The best place to savour Penang's food include Gurney Drive, New World Park, Raja Uda and Chai Leng Park.So, come and have try to these delicious food such as Hokkien Mee, Laksa, Char Kuey Teow, Ais Kacang and many more!! Beside from that,according to CNN Go, Penang is also ranked among top ten greatest street food cities in Asia.
